Drought, heavy rains, and floods, extreme conditions around the country launched me into the River Project which began in four NC rivers: the Neuse, Tar, the Roanoke and Cape Fear. The river drawings trace each river’s movement, document human interactions at specific sites. The project developed out of the Ocean Drawings, and was partially funded by a 2009 NC Regional Artist United Arts Council Grant. The drawings are photographed on a black ground.
